During dry weather the wetlands are maintained
by well water

Sitting huddled and dumpy in the trees.

curved necks ready to thrust
or just digesting the last fish.
Hammering the living daylights out of some poor fish
or waiting for the next victim.
Sleepy in the daylight
sitting quietly in their nests.
Everywhere you go there are parakeets

Many of these
Crested Serpent Eagle
Every park we visited had peacocks
Exotics for us Europeans, but dead boring for the locals
