Keoladeo Ghana National Park

This park is in wetlands popular with wading birds.

You ride through the park on cycle rickshaws

No doubt the rickshaw drivers vary

Ours was a superman

During dry weather the wetlands are maintained
by well water

Picturesque birds

Looking good

Silhouetted over the water

Less-attractive birds

Sitting huddled and dumpy in the trees.

Fishing

Wading in the water

curved necks ready to thrust

or just digesting the last fish.

Kingfishers

Hammering the living daylights out of some poor fish

or waiting for the next victim.

Owls

Sleepy in the daylight

sitting quietly in their nests.

Birds from other parks

Parakeets

Everywhere you go there are parakeets

Bee-eaters

Green Bee-eaters

Rufous Treepies

Many of these

Eagles

Crested Serpent Eagle

Peacocks

Every park we visited had peacocks

Exotics for us Europeans, but dead boring for the locals

Lapwings

Why do they like standing in the middle of the road?

Storks

Woolly-necked Stork

Vultures

Resting in trees

Eating anything going
