Abu Dhabi

The strangest airport terminal I have been in.

(Passed en-route and with a fort-like quality)

Ranthambore

A National Park and our first destination.

The park is dominated by a hilltop fort.

Another view: where we entered the fort.

A cistern within the fort on the hilltop.

Walking within the grounds of the fort

The rather chaotic area around a shrine within the fort

And some...

... of the miscreants

Fatehpur Sikri

No a fort, but an abandoned town.

I loved the elegant buildings.

Everything matched in red stone.

The designs were subtle.

The buildings were often elaborate...

... with slightly over-the-top craftsmanship

The whole thing exuded...

... peace and tranquility

There were some elegant buildings around huge courtyards

The Jami Masjid nearby is less elegant

Although the tomb of Shaikh Salim Chisti has beautifully-worked marble screens

Agra Red Fort

We visited this after the Taj Mahal

They were doing some repair work from a magnificent scaffolding! Photo taken from the Mussaman Burj (octagonal tower).

Inside, the buildings have some magnificent stonework

Also, inlaid marble
